About Us

Ron and Alan Landis started working for Amundson's Shoe Shop and Saddlery in the mid 1960's.  Western Rancher was established in 1974 when upon purchasing Amundson's Shoe Shop.
In May of 1974 the store was moved to a location on  West Hwy 12.  This is when Ron and Alan Landis started adding clothing to their business.  In 1989, Ron and Alan moved their business back to Main Street of Mobridge, SD to the old Perrons Toggery building.  In 1995 they purchased the Swartz Drug building and expanded there business once again.  In 2006, Ron sold out his share of the store to his brother Alan.  

The store currently sells a large variety of western and casual clothing and footwear along with home goods and tack.  The business also has a very successful leather repair shop.
